I had a change to visit a multi-purpose support vessel Fennica. Vessel is now 26-years old, but still in very good shape.
Vessel's normal routine is to provide icebreaking service for Finnish waters during the winter months. Outside of the winter season vessel has been working around the world. They have had interesting projects with arctic exploration, oil production and offshore construction works.
There would have been a lot pictures to be taken from all kind of technical instruments onboard, but as you know me, I see the world little bit differently.
Lets start from the Captains cabin.
Since the Master of the vessel is lady, I had picked a bunch of lily-of-the-valleys for her.
In her cabin some little artist had left her work for us to see.
And what is Captains daily quote?
Vessel still has nice details like proper wooden doors and other old fashion items.
Of course we went up to the bridge as well.
Interior had been updated over the years and there was several walls covered with impressive pictures. Here is one example.
Sport has a key role in a ship. On this vessel crew does have an opportunity to find their own favorite sport activity.
Here is a board where engine crew kept their ear protectors and hats.
Even a proper Master key was found.
These might look like something that kids could play with, but these do have a function. These are used when team members are planning their actions with other vessels.
Visit was interesting and certainly educating. Thank you Master.
